REPULSIVE RECORDS (2005-2010)

I was the store owner of Repulsive Records in Stockholm, Sweden. I had it between 2005-2010 Unfortunately that was probably the worst time in history to have a record store when sales of physical media was at an all time low. Anyway, ancient history now, but I sure had a great time and meet a lot of new people. I hold signing sessions with Dissection two times, Vader, Celtic Frost among others. Had a lot of people from Watain, Dissection, Candlemass, Nifelheim and Dismember who hung out in the store.

The store combined records from alla genres under the Metal umbrella, Horror DVD's, Occult literature, Music Books, Merchandise and some other stuff that I thought would fit into the concept. It also had a couch and kind of a bar counter were you could hang out with friends.

I also should have some pictures somewhere from the Dissection signing sessions somewhere, I hope to find them someday. I remember that we put up big black curtains to block out any sunlight, had only black candles as lightning and incense of Jon’s choice during both their signing sessions. One was in December 2005, and the other one was 2 days before the official release of ”Reinkaos” which we sold as the first place in the world.

Another proud moment that I look back to now 20 years later is the mention in the amazing book about Swedish Death Metal by Daniel Ekeroth (it can be ordered from the publisher here).

This is where Dissection had a signing session when Jon left Prision in 2004. Tomas Asklund and Set Teitan were also present.
