Necronomicon was a Polish fanzine written in Polish. I don’t speak the language but have tried to translate the small article and the review to English. Mainly because I love early 1990’s Swedish Death Metal and because this guy seems to cry a lot about it! 😂
Dark Abbey only released one demo tape before changing their name to Epitaph.
DARK ABBEY
EVERYTHING WILL DECAY
Hmm …. And so, willingly or unwillingly, I now have the honours of presenting to you an orchestra hailing from a land that, I don't know how and why, has earned the title of the European capital of Death Metal. I don't deny that there are a few cool bands in this country, such as GRAVE and THERION, but to immediately label them "stolloy" or "the strongest scene in Europe"? For what? For a million bands whose only area of activity is copying each other? In my opinion, this is a matter that needs to be explained, because some mysterious "forces" of the omnipresent SZMIRA must have interfered here. Okay, but I've written here about slightly less important, oh, I can't believe it's important… problems, and the speech would have such they come from Sweden, and the decision to form a band was made in the fall of '89 by guitarist Manne Svensson and drummer & vocals at the same time - Johan Enooksson. In the spring of '90, Nicke Hagen (not Nina Hagen ha, ha) joined these two, taking care of bass and guitar, and that's how the DARK ABBEY lineup is complete from that point on. Hmm...and that's basically all the history. You can read a review of their first demo "Blasphemy" in the place designated for this purpose ....and in the meantime I encourage you to write to Nicke for this demo/sorry, but I don't know the price of this product, if only to familiarize yourself with what musical level the band can achieve after a year of playing/the demo was recorded a year after the foundation of DARK ABBEY..../...... So here is his address:
Nicke Hagen,
Rosenbjelkesv. 29,
S-191 77 Sollentuna
Sweden
