MALIBU BARBI (US) "RUDE GIRLS" [7"]

An all-female band from San Francisco, California, born out of the ashes of Rude Girl. They were  fronted by Chastain vocalist Leather Leone and issued a 12" single, dubbed the 'Rude Girls' EP, during 1987. The original formation comprised singer Steve Gelardi, guitarists Heidi Hansen and Heidi Furr, bassist Jo Ann Rebel and drummer Sandy Sledge, the latter ex-Rude Girl. Membership changes subsequently saw Furr usurped by Leather Angel's Debbie Wolf. They were active between 1986-1992'ish.

RECOMMENDED LISTENING: WITCH "THE HEX IS ON" [EP] (1984)

The band were infamous in the early sleaze/glam scene of L.A. The band concentrated much effort into their stage shows, which included excessive use of pyrotechnics. They were regarded as leading lights of the glam scene, along with bands such as Motley Crue and W.A.S.P. The band played their very first show as Witch on June 11, 1983 at The Woodstock in Anaheim, CA.

The band broke up in early 1989. They reformed for one show on November 1st, 1991.

Founding member Punky Peru was married to Tommy Lee's sister, Athena Bass, and they divorced in 1986. She had Punky arrested for domestic abuse, and he served six months in the Orange County Jail in 1987. Before going to jail he met and moved in with Lita Ford, and he co-wrote the song "Fatal Passion" on Ford's platinum-selling "Lita" album. Lita Ford would also jam with the band on stage occasionally during this period. David Ezrin Is son of famed producer Bob Ezrin.

LEZLIE PAICE (SWE) "FIGHTING MAN" [7"]

Swedish heavy metal band from the west coast of Sweden, Varberg. Active in the from late '70s till '85. Often mentioned as one of the band that made out New Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal aka NWOSHM or whatäs mainly used today First Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal aka FWOSHM. Started out in late '70s with Håkan on guitar, Lars on bass, Mikael on guitar and Niclas on drums. After Tony joined on vocals they recorded a 7" for Pang Records in Pharda Studios Stockholm late '82 that was released spring of '83, Fighting Man. The band played live shows around the Swedish west coast throughout first half of '80s and recorded an EP in '85 after which the band split up.

BELSEBUB (SWE) … ONE OF THE MORE OBSCURE SWEDISH DEATH METAL BANDS

One of the more obscure Swedish Death Metal bands that was active during a couple of years in the early 1990’s was Belsebub. They were also one of the first death metal bands to use two lead vocalists. They released two demotapes and this EP.

From Belsebub's biography during "Lord of Lucast" demo times: Belsebub was founded in the summer of 1990 by Stevo (Toxaemia), Jonny and Fredrik (Salvation). The band was meant to be a hobby band, but later everything went better than they thought. They had some company of Gusten (Drugstore) and he was only in the band for 3-4 months, but then he quit and was replaced by Mika (Morbidity). What the band made during the time they have been together is a demo called "Lord of Lucast" and it contains 8 fast, brutal death/grind tracks with brutal and screamy vocals. The influence is mostly from the Florida and N.Y. scene. The future plans for the band is to get well known in the underground and release anything on vinyl.
