SATAN’S PHARYNX (GER) … SHORT BAND HISTORY & STREAM THE DEMOTAPES

Satan's Pharynx came from Moers, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and was formed in 1981.

They had a four-man lineup: Ralf Kuhnekath (vocals), Christian Büttner (guitar), Peter Beck (bass) and Nils Geller (drums).

Although the band was often been compared to Venom, their two demos clearly demonstrate that they had developed their own style. The sound could be described as very N.W.O.B.H.M. influenced. It's heavy and reminds you of Witchfinder General, Witchfynde, Satan and then of course Venom. The songs are all short bursts of heavy power. Very catchy and a have a sound all of  their own.

Unfortunately they only released two demo tapes and had two tracks on the 1985 compilation "Break Out - German Metal Tracks No. 1", before they called it quits.
