The band started out in January 1987 as a solo project of band leader Peter Hobbs. They played thrash metal in the Slayer vein but Hobbs himself referred to their style as "virgin metal" as he saw it as an untainted and pure form of metal.
This demo was recorded in Doug Saunders Studio, Melbourne, Australia, while the album was later recorded and mixed at Music Lab Berlin, Germany between February-March 1988.
Their self-titled debut album was released in 1988 through Steamhammer. The band dissolved soon after the release, but seven years later it reformed to release their second album called Inheritance, which was basically only distributed in Australia.
A long period of silence followed until the band reformed once again in 2002. In July 2003, they signed a four album deal with the native label Modern Invasion Music. On 21 October 2019, Peter Hobbs died at the age of 58.
OPINION: This is so f**kin good! The early Slayer/Venom vibes are definitely there, without feeling like copycats. I remember back in the day when I bought their debut album. I had never heard of the band before until I saw it in the discount bins in a supermarket for $2 and with that awesome front cover, I knew I had to have it. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. I have loved that album ever since. With that said, I probably like the demo even more, because ”Liar” and ”Chainsaw Massacre” is on here which are two of my favorite tracks, but which was omitted from the album for some reason. both this demo and the album is a must have.
