W.A.S.P AT THE 3RD ANNUAL PARTY NINJA BENEFIT

Santa Monica, January 28, 1989 was the place and date for the 3rd annual Party Ninja benefit concert for Find The Children, an organization that helped locate missing children.

At this show WASP, White Lion, and Hurricane played short sets and various “All Star Bands” called Party Ninja’s played various sets of covers. Some of the “All Star” participants included Vince Neil, Bruce Kulick, Jeff Pilson, Carlos Cavazo, Randy Castillo, and many others!

This just “oozed” of the 80s. Even songs like “Purple Haze”, “Hot Legs” and others sounded like classic 80s rock songs lol. The LA Times said this about the show “The classic songs were entertainingly performed and well-received, with an emphasis on fun”. I don’t disagree.

It was also funny hearing Mike Tramp give his best David Lee Roth impersonation proclaiming “Look at all the crazy people here tonight” and WASP introducing “The Real Me” from their forthcoming album “The Headless Children”.

A fun time in music, and a fun show for a good cause. Listening to concerts like this make me miss the 80s even more.
