This photo of Lemmy eating cornflakes in a top-floor suite at the Hyatt on Sunset Boulevard, 1974, was found by Hawkwind drummer Alan Powell. It was taken during a two-week promotional stay in LA while the band was on a break from their ‘Warrior on the Edge of Time’ US tour. Powell and Lemmy had an open room-service tab, courtesy of United Artists. One morning at 5 a.m., Lemmy woke Powell to play him a new song he'd written after hanging out with members of Traffic, it was called ‘Motorhead.’ The track, which was later recorded as the B-side to ‘Kings of Speed,’ is something Powell always thought should’ve been the A-side.
