There is a common misconception about the Destroyer summer tour stage production. Many KISS fans think that several of the stage props and design features were quickly eliminated because the band and crew were unhappy with them. This is not so. Out of the ten major stage props, only the "crystal garden" was removed permanently after the 11th show. All other stage props remained for the entirety of the summer tour, including painted scrims on both sides of the stage, foam wall amp coverings, Peter's cat statues (stolen during load-out after the Atlanta, GA, show, 8/29), Gene's black "tree", Gene's bloody stake, the God of Thunder Machine/Tesla coil, red/white/blue lightning bolts, cloud, and power line lighting towers. Even when the Rock and Roll Over Tour started in November, only the lighting towers and cloud were discontinued.
