EDS [ЭДС] (RUS) " LET EVERYONE KNOW (ДАЙ ВСЕМ ЗНАТЬ)" [REEL-TO-REEL]

Genre: Heavy Metal
Year: 1992
Country: Russia
Note: Not to be confused with pre-Фронт band which also was named ЭДС!

EDS is from USSR/Russia (Kumertau, Bashkortostan, and later Moscow. The band started in 1983 under the name Рок-полигон, which was a year later changed to ЭДС (Электродвижущая сила). The first lineup of the group included: Yuri Gurba - vocals; Mikhail Krizsky - lead guitar; Valery Petrunin - rhythm guitar; Dmitry Bondarenko - bass guitar; Alexander Chikirev - drums. The group's popularity was growing quickly. ЭДС toured extensively throughout the Soviet Union.

In 1985, Vladimir Sergeev became the group's new vocalist. In 1989, he was replaced by Konstantin Yegin. And in 1990, when the situation with rock music in the country began to change, people grew tired of social issues and pop music filled the scene, the group ЭДС broke up. The musicians of the group Аксельбант under the direction of Rustam Khandeev took advantage of the situation. They inherited the well-known ЭДС name brand, equipment, and some of the songs from the previous ЭДС incarnation. By giving these songs a more commercial arrangement, which was typical of the band Аксельбант, the newly formed ЭДС lineup positioned itself as a Moscow-based group, but eventually they failed to break through.

In 1992 ЭДС finished the work on their album "Дай Всем Знать" (Let Everyone Know) which recorded with the help of musicians from "Aria". Initially the work was planned for release on LP, but due to the lackluster final result, the musicians were dissatisfied with the recording quality and the process of making a vinyl press was halted. Ultimately, the recording was distributed only as a magnetoalbum.
