As most readers of this blog know, I more or less only listened to Metal before the 2000's (except for Black Metal that you can add an extra 5-10 years for). It's not that I don't think people can make music today, but for me it's usually the productions that ruins it. It's to clean, every band seems the use the same settings when they record it 100% digitally and it gets a 'made in a laboratory' feeling that's simply not for me. But every once in awhile there's a new band that crosses my path, that peaks my interest. When I first heard the album "Evil Never Dies" in 2003-2004, it knocked me on my ass. I loved it from start to end. It had that gritty, dirty feeling that I love. This is opening track "War is hell", that later was recorded in a more "professional studio" in 2008, and immediately lost its charm.
The track can be found on the album ”Evil Never Dies” from 1998
