I came across a small article in Heavy Metal Times #3 (1983) about a band called Eruption from Texas, US. They sounded interesting so I went to metal archives to check them out, but I couldn’t find anything so the hunt began. Didn’t they record anything or were they to hard rock-ish to be on metal archives?
About one hour later things weren’t that much clearer, apart from finding some names on metal archives of band members and band they played in later.
So I went to my favorite metal forum and got some help finding information.
When we look into rhythm guitarist Mark Wiethorn, the following text was added to his metal archives profile: Eruption (Arlington, TX) formed in late 1979 or early 1980. It's unclear whether or not Marc was part of the original lineup, but by 1983 he was an active member of the band. The other people in the '83 lineup were Mark Trimmier (guitars), Robert Garrett (bass), Hardin Harrison (drums), and Jeff Dennis (vocals). It's unknown whether or not the band had any recordings or releases.
It seems like they never recorded any demo tape or something like that, but a cover version of Riot’s ”Sword and Tequila” was found on singer Jeff Daniels Facebook page … but that’s it when it comes to the music.
JEFF DANIELS (VOCALS)
Can’t find any profile for him on Metal Archives, but his Facebook page.
MARK TRIMMIER (LEAD GUITAR)
Mark seems to have played in a band called Assassin after Eruption, they weren’t on metal archives either, but I found this photo down below.
He also seems to have played in a band called stress in the late 1980’s. They have a metal archives page and did release a demo tape, ”Can’t take the pressure”, so now the hunt is on to find it.
