“Jump in the Fire" was released as the second and final single from Metallica’s debut album, Kill ‘Em All - an album that defined thrash metal. This song was one of the band's earliest recordings in 1982. The original lyrics were written by Dave Mustaine, but once he left the band, the lyrics were changed before recording Kill 'Em All. These photos of Metallica are from May 1983, during the recording sessions at Music America Studio in Rochester, New York for Kill 'Em All. You can see these lyrics and other Metallica artifacts on display at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
